Custom Artwork Guidelines
Vector Artwork
1. Files are preferred to be sent in a vector format (Al, EPS, CDR, and PDF are acceptable file formats.)
2. Vector artwork is the easiest to work with when printing on physical products.
3. ALL two or more color orders must be submitted in vector format.
Vector Image vs. JPEG image
Photo Artwork
1. If vector artwork is not available, files may be accepted in JPEG, PNG and TIF files.
2. The image provided must be at least 300 dpi or higher to ensure that the file will print correctly. Any artwork not meeting this standard will not be accepted.
Low Resolution vs. High Resolution
File Types Explained
.ai - "Illustrator" file; Should send this file when professionally printing. This is the raw file where the logo was made. Special software is needed to open this.
.png - "PNG" file (Portable Network Graphic); can be used by almost anyone, anywhere. If a professional printer is not handling the file, then this is the file that should be used. It's largely accepted and has a transparent background.
.jpg - "J-PEG" file; if the png is not working/being accepted, then the jpg should. Does not support transparency.
pdf - "PDF" file; Should be provided when professionally printing. A file that can be opened without special software but is still editable.
Our preferred file types are .AI, .PDF, .EPS, and .CDR. With all of the text outlined or converted to curves. This ensures that we open your file and have all of the fonts and objects just like they are when it is sent to us.
Other acceptable files include .JPG, .PNG, .Tiff, and .PSD as long as they are high enough resolution and are crisp when viewed.
Please note that we cannot print from .SVG or any Microsoft Office document including, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, One Note, Out Look, etc.
Please email info@printappeal.com or orders@printappeal.com if you have any questions regarding artwork.
